Today is July 22nd, 2008, and the topic of the week this week is
this clusterfuck.
The article says that a Barack Obama win in the presidential election might cause white people to think that they are no longer racists, because they voted for a black man.
Excuse me for a second while I go eat a kitten.
Right, this is wrong on so many levels; and while Im not an Obama supporter, I still feel the need to correct this
bullshit. Theres no better word for it.
This piece assumes that most whites are racists. Now, I wasnt aware of this. As a matter of fact I was pretty damn sure that I was living in the least racist America in hundreds of years. But thanks for assuming that whites dont actually see merits in Colin Powell and Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama, but are rather just looking for cheap cop-outs to make ourselves feel better for being racist fucks.
They want something else Obama offers them: "White Guilt Repellent," he [Steven Sailer] wrote.
"So many whites want to be able to say, 'I'm not one of them, those bad whites. ... Hey, I voted for a black guy for president,' " Sailer wrote.
Sailer cited another reason why many whites want Obama as president:
"They hope that when a black finally moves into the White House, it will prove to African-Americans, once and for all, that white animus isn't the cause of their troubles. All blacks have to do is to act like President Obama - and their problems will be over."
Oh god, I need another kitten.
I am not a racist. I was not raised that way. Neither was most of my generation, neither was much of the generation before that. White animus, as Sailer calls it, is much a thing of the past. Yes, I know there is still lynching and various other unacceptable shit in the ass-backwards parts of the South, but that is the exception and in no way the rule. The problems of black America may have long ago been caused by white aristocrats, but I cant remember the last time I went out onto my plantation and whipped one of my slavesoh wait, thats probably because it was never. Im really tired of getting blamed for things that I didnt do just because of my skin colour. Im really tired of people presuming that Im things that I am most certainly not all because of my skin colour. What is that called again? Oh right. Racism. But whites cant be the victims of racism! Blasphemy!
That brings me to something Im extremely pissed at Obama for doing. Now, if I were going to vote for Obamawhich I wont, for various reasonsit would be because I think his policies are the ones I want in the white house, not because of his race. As a matter of fact, I cant think of anyone that Ive talked to mentioning his race as a reason to vote for him. The only one I can think of whos been talking about it is Obama himself. Obama and the media. This is the problem. Everyones supposed to be looking at Obama as the revolutionary candidate because hes black, and Obama himself is pushing the stereotype. Thats not progress. Progress is when Obama can run as the democratic candidate instead of the black candidate. I see one America, and I really hope that there will be a day when everyone can drop the discrimination and reverse discrimination and see it with me.
